Notwithstanding the coronavirus pandemic, center Orlando is contemplating the development of domestic high-rises and there are more on the drawing board. The City of Orlando stated there were more than 18,000 people previously living in the downtown sector and thousands more could be moving there.

It just invigorates downtown. It brings citizens here 24-7 and 365,” Thomas Chatmon stated. As governing for Orlando’s Downtown Development Board, Chanton said the reason for all of this new residential development turns down to simple economics benefactors. Chatmon also said that they want walkable downtown. Of course a grocery store. Movie theaters too. Restaurants and parks too. Most important open spaces. According to city records, there are currently five major high-rise residential projects under construction in the downtown sector. This will add an estimated 2,378 units to the area. There are also 10 more designs that are on the drawing board, which, if accepted, could add 2,729 extra systems.

Before any of those designs break territory, it is previously growing pain. Let’s say, there’s only one supermarket store in the midtown area the Publix by Lake Eola. We are operating with other supermarket store owners, operators, businesses, who are looking everywhere in the center area. Chatmon added that there’s a lot of focus for a new grocery store in the north quarter of downtown. That area, I think, is ready for more facilities, and it wouldn’t confuse me at all if that’s where you see the next supermarket store go. I definitely think it’s way too much too soon a resident of downtown Orlando expressed.
Chatmon also said they understand that some people have some issues with that, and we try to relieve that among developers and the society as relevant when we can.
Orlando city administrators will take up the final construction of a command change on the Mariposa Groves design at their meeting on Dec. 7.
