The park includes Castle Playground, a large wooden playground. At this park, there is also a great exercise station with all kinds of interesting machines, on a pond. This is a beautiful spot to spend a few hours! The playground is covered by thick shade from gorgeous big trees. Kids can run from the castle tower to castle tower. There are plenty of swings plus a tire swing, and a log tunnel to climb through. Beautiful birds of all kinds hang out by the pond. The exercise station had all kinds of contraptions we’d never seen before. At Castle Park kids and adults can get plenty of exercises while enjoying nature!
Take New England Ave east from Castle Playground to Park Ave. Where sidewalk cafes and people-watching await you. On Morse Blvd, you can grab a picnic at Trader Joe’s Market or have a Shake Shack hot dog while overlooking the lake. Winter Park also has an adorable playground. Azalea Lane Playground, with a smaller, cozier feel, is a favored spot for families. Robert Leathers, a nationally recognized playground designer. It is built this large wooden castle theme playground in Winter Park so it’s known as “Castle Park.”. Playgrounds are fenced in and have big trees for shade too.
Castle Park Orlando | Orlando Park Ave
Park Avea seven-block stretch from Fairbanks Ave to Canton Ave with stores in Winter Park. It is like walking through Europe! The holiday season is a perfect time to shop for flowers and ice cream along this street lined with cute little French patisseries. A large European-style city park called Central Park is directly across from the shops. Where young people sit on the grass by the fountain. Located in South Central Florida, Rollins College is a picturesque college. It’s amazing that there is such a beautiful destination within walking distance of your college campus! The park has a rose garden near the southern end.
Le Macaron has a koi pond and a fake lit-up tree in an enchanting indoor alley. Near Simmons, Jewelers is a cute alley with a blue staircase and a koi pond. A back alley garden is located at A Ancient Olive, a food shop with olive oil tastings located in a building painted in bright lime green. BurgerFi, near the university, is on Park Ave, with shakes and burgers. Rocket Fizz candy store is at the south end of Park Ave. It serves delicious ice cream and offers outdoor and indoor seating but no dinner.
In Winter Park, there are so many appealing, tasty-looking restaurants! Fresh croissants with chicken salad are available at Croissant Gourmet. There is amazing Florentina pizza at Prato, and the decor is elegant with orchids on the walls and heaters for the patio. Turkish cuisine served on a platter piled high with fresh vegetables, served on the Bosporus, is the best of all. Adana Chicken is a great choice. There is an interesting mix of young students, business people, and older people in Winter Park. Everywhere you look, intelligent conversations are taking place!
Castle Park Orlando | Lakeside
Located at the heart of Winter Park, a university town, Lakeside Shopping Plaza overlooks Lake Killarney. You can stand on the dock and feel the breeze through your hair while admiring the scenery. An Adirondack chair or a picnic table outside Shake Shack and a crispy hot dog are absolute paradises. I am reminded of my favorite California restaurant, Padaro Beach Grill. Iz’s Hawaiian music would be better- they have awful music! Statues of children and frogs in the fountain. Further down in the shopping center is a sculpture of a woman surrounded by water vessels of all different sizes. You can find healthy groceries and tasty treats at Trader Joe’s market. Another option is Yogen Fruz frozen yogurt, as well as Jillycakes cupcake store.
Hillstone’s, on the southern border of this shopping plaza, offers a more formal dining experience by the lake. Lakeside and the seating behind Shake Shack happened to be near Trader Joe’s when I was shopping. While wandering over to take a closer look at the lake, I caught glimpses of it. It was then that I found it! I have a new place to hang out! You can get into a dreamy mood simply by sitting in an Adirondack chair and watching the lake. If that’s the case, where else is it possible in a busy city?
At Lakeside Crossing you will find upscale restaurants and San Julian’s, a coffee shop. Just cross Orlando Ave. At night it’s lovely here with the many fountains, sculptures, and elegant lights. You can find several great workout stations, wooden playgrounds, and a walking path for hours of fun at Castle Playground. Martin Luther King Jr Park is just a short walk along Morse Blvd. A great playground that you won’t soon forget is Azalea Lane Playground.
